Director of Clinical Services

Salary: From £60,000

37.5 hours per week


Our client, a leading provider of inpatient mental health services, is looking for a passionate and experienced Director of Clinical Services to join their senior management team. Situated within beautifully landscaped gardens, their service supports young people and adults, helping them to live their best lives in a safe, therapeutic, and supportive environment.

 

This role offers the opportunity to shape clinical services, influence strategy, and drive continuous improvement in patient care.

 

Skills and Qualifications

  • Qualifications: Nursing qualification, with a valid UK NMC Pin
  • Clinical Management Experience: Strong background in clinical management, with at least 3 years’ experience at a Ward Manager or equivalent level.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of statutory regulations and clinical governance.
  • Strategic Thinking: Strategic thinker who is proactive, innovative, and solutions focused.
  • Budget Management: Experience managing budgets and implementing quality improvement initiatives.
  • Commitment to Excellence: Passionate about delivering high-quality care and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic and Operational Leadership: Provide strategic and operational leadership to clinical teams.
  • Clinical Governance and Performance: Oversee the performance and governance of all clinical departments.
  • High-Quality Patient Care: Ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and evidence-based care aligned with best practices and statutory regulations.
  • Budget and Resource Management: Manage clinical budgets, staffing, and resources efficiently.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement through effective clinical governance and quality initiatives.
  • Recruitment and Workforce Development: Support recruitment, retention, and development of clinical staff, including career pathways and CPD opportunities.
  • Collaboration Across Teams: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to foster a cohesive and supportive work environment.
  • Workforce Planning and Staffing: Lead on workforce planning, ensuring safe staffing levels and adherence to clinical models.
  • Leadership and Supervision: Act as a role model and provide coaching, supervision, and leadership to enhance team performance.
  • Hospital Strategy and Deputy Responsibilities: Contribute to the hospital's strategy and act as Deputy to the Hospital Director when required.
