Sous Chef

£30,900 | 40 hours per week, Alternate weekends

Our client is a well-established luxury care home, known for delivering exceptional care to older adults in a warm and beautifully designed environment. With a focus on dignity, wellbeing, and comfort, the service places mealtimes at the heart of daily life – and they’re now looking for a passionate Sous Chef to help lead their kitchen with skill and heart.

As a Sous Chef, you’ll work closely with the Head Chef to deliver high-quality, freshly prepared meals that reflect residents’ preferences, nutritional needs, and medical requirements. You’ll play a key part in kitchen leadership, mentoring junior staff, maintaining high hygiene standards, and ensuring every plate leaves the kitchen with care and consistency.

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week), with alternate weekend working to ensure a strong team presence throughout the week.

  • Passion for creating high-quality, comforting, and enjoyable meals
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Team player with a proactive, can-do attitude
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene (minimum) – Level 3 desirable

What’s in It for You?

The service values their team as much as their residents. Staff enjoy a supportive, friendly environment with plenty of opportunities for growth and recognition, including:

  • Blue Light Card – discounts at 15,000+ retailers and services
  • Training & Development – grow your career with access to courses and ongoing support
  • Pension Scheme – secure your future with employer contributions
  • Long Service Awards – celebrating your milestones and loyalty
  • Staff Recognition Programmes – because great work deserves to be noticed

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Head Chef in the daily running of a professional kitchen

  • Ensure meals meet required texture modifications and nutritional standards
  • Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and kitchen safety
