Chef – Care Home
Salary: £29,000
40 hours per week (including some weekends)
Our client, a well-respected luxury care home, is seeking a skilled and passionate Chef to join their dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in the culinary sector, particularly within a care home environment, who takes pride in delivering nutritious and delicious meals tailored to residents' needs.
As a Chef, you will play a key role in providing high-quality meals that cater to a range of dietary requirements, allergies, and food textures. Working closely with the wider team, they will ensure that every meal is prepared to the highest standard while creating a warm and inviting dining experience for residents.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience as a Chef, ideally within a care home or similar setting.
- Strong knowledge of different diets, allergens, and food textures.
- A recognised food qualification (e.g., Food Hygiene Certificate, NVQ in Professional Cookery or equivalent).
- A passion for delivering high-quality, nutritious meals tailored to individual needs.
- Excellent teamwork, organisation, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook nutritious meals in line with residents’ dietary requirements, preferences, and health needs.
- Adapt menus for allergies, intolerances, and texture-modified diets.
- Ensure food is presented to a high standard while maintaining flavour and variety.
- Follow all food hygiene and safety regulations, ensuring compliance with current legislation.
- Work efficiently within the kitchen team, maintaining a clean and organised work environment.
- Support menu planning and stock control to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen.
- Engage with residents to understand their preferences and enhance their dining experience.
