Nursery Third In Charge
Salary: Up to £26,000

Full-time, 40 hours per week

 

Our client is a friendly, nursery in Henley on Thames, known for its welcoming environment and high-quality childcare. Centrally located near the river and train station, this well-equipped nursery provides a nurturing space for children aged 3 months to 5 years. It also features a thoughtfully designed, enclosed outdoor play area with engaging activities for all.

 

This role is ideal for an experienced Room Leader or Senior Practitioner eager to contribute to a collaborative and supportive team environment. As Third in Charge, you’ll play a key role in delivering a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that encourages children’s development and creativity.

 

Qualifications:

  • Level 3 Early Years qualification (or above).
  • Proven experience in a Room Leader or Senior Practitioner role within a nursery setting.
  • Strong understanding of EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) framework.
  • Excellent communication skills with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • A proactive, flexible approach with strong leadership skills.
  • A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the management team in overseeing daily operations, ensuring high standards of care and learning.
  • Lead by example, maintaining a safe, stimulating, and positive environment for children aged 3 months to 5 years.
  • Manage and mentor staff within your designated room, providing guidance, encouragement, and support.
  • Develop and implement engaging activities that promote children’s physical, emotional, and social development.
  • Build strong relationships with parents and guardians, keeping them informed and involved in their child’s progress.
  • Ensure the nursery meets all regulatory and safeguarding requirements.
