Our client operates a highly respected Residential Dementia Care Home, rated "Good" by the CQC. The home is dedicated to creating a warm and supportive environment where residents feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for. With a focus on personalised, high-quality care, the team strives to meet the individual needs of each resident, ensuring a positive and welcoming atmosphere.
Our client is seeking an enthusiastic Head Chef to lead their kitchen team. In this key role, you will be responsible for crafting nutritious and enjoyable meals that enhance residents' dining experience and align with their dietary requirements. This is a fantastic opportunity for a chef who values creating comforting and carefully prepared meals within a supportive care home environment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Head Chef, preferably within a care home, healthcare, or similar setting
- Strong knowledge of dietary needs and nutritional guidelines for elderly and dementia care
- Commitment to food safety, hygiene standards, and quality control
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Relevant qualification in Food Preparation/Catering (preferred)

Key Responsibilities
- Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare meals that meet residents' specific dietary needs and preferences.
- Kitchen Management: Oversee daily kitchen operations, maintaining cleanliness, safety, and hygiene in line with health regulations.
- Menu Planning: Develop seasonal, varied menus that prioritize nutrition, flavor, and residents’ satisfaction.
- Stock Control: Manage food inventory, minimizing waste and ensuring timely stock replenishment.
- Team Leadership: Supervise kitchen staff, ensuring smooth and efficient daily operations.
