Our client, a charming small residential care home known for its “Good” CQC rating, is seeking a passionate and talented Head Chef to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a culinary professional who loves creating delicious meals in a warm, supportive environment that feels like home.
What We’re Looking For:
- Culinary Experience: Previous experience as a Head Chef or in a similar role, ideally within a care home or residential setting.
- Passion for Food: A genuine love for cooking and creating meals that bring joy to residents.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and communication abilities to guide and motivate a kitchen team.
- Food Safety Knowledge: A solid understanding of food hygiene and a Food Hygiene Certificate.

Key Responsibilities:
- Create Nutritious Meals: Prepare and cook a variety of meals that are not only delicious but also meet the nutritional needs of the residents, considering dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Manage Kitchen Operations: Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring a clean, safe, and organized work environment while adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Plan Menus: Develop creative and seasonal menus that offer variety and promote resident enjoyment, incorporating feedback from residents and staff.
- Lead the Kitchen Team: Inspire and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative atmosphere that encourages professional development and teamwork.
