Job Title: Nursery Room Leader
Location: Bristol
Salary: £13.96 per hour


We are currently seeking a Nursery Room Leader to join a lovely team in Bristol. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and dedicated individual to take on a leadership role within a well-established nursery. As the Nursery Room Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operation of the nursery room, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and education for young children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Lead and support a team of nursery staff, providing guidance and mentoring to ensure the delivery of excellent care and education.
  • Curriculum Planning: Plan and implement a stimulating, age-appropriate curriculum in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), promoting children’s development in all areas.
  • Child Development: Ensure the individual needs of each child are met, providing opportunities for them to grow and develop in a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Communication with Parents: Maintain strong communication with parents and families, ensuring they are actively involved in their child’s development and progress.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure the nursery room is safe, clean, and well-maintained, adhering to all health and safety standards and regulations.
  • Record Keeping: Oversee record-keeping and administrative tasks related to children’s progress, ensuring all records are accurate and up to date.
  • Staff Support: Support and guide nursery staff in their professional development, ensuring high standards of care and education are maintained.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Level 3 Qualification in Early Childhood Education (or equivalent).
  • At least 2 years’ experience working in a nursery or early years setting.
  • Proven experience of leading or supervising a team.
  • Strong understanding of child development and the EYFS framework.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A positive, inclusive approach to creating a welcoming environment for both children and staff.

Day-to-Day Duties:

  • Lead a team to ensure the highest standards of care and education are delivered.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver developmentally appropriate activities.
  • Communicate regularly with parents to keep them informed of their child’s progress.
  • Ensure the nursery room is well-maintained and meets all health, safety, and hygiene requirements.
  • Support and mentor staff to foster a positive and collaborative working environment.
