Full-Time | Salary: £25,500 – £27,000 per annum (DOE)
Location: Gloucester
Our client is seeking a confident, creative and committed Nursery Room Leader to join their dedicated early years team in Gloucester.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced childcare professional ready to take the next step in their career – leading a vibrant nursery room and supporting a team to deliver exceptional care and education.

As Room Leader, you’ll play a central role in shaping the daily experiences of the children in your care, guiding your team and working closely with families to ensure every child thrives.
You’ll be based in a well-resourced, supportive setting that encourages innovation and autonomy, and offers the structure of the EYFS framework alongside the freedom to bring your ideas to life.
About You
- Minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years (essential)
- Proven experience working with children aged 0–5 years
- At least one year of experience in a senior or supervisory childcare role (required)
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS and child development
- Ability to lead a team with positivity, clarity, and purpose
- Excellent communication skills with children, colleagues, and parents
- Confident in planning, record-keeping, and using basic IT systems

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day running of your designated room with energy and professionalism
- Be a strong role model for both children and colleagues
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities following the EYFS framework
- Ensure a safe, stimulating environment both indoors and outdoors
- Maintain open, positive communication with parents, keeping them informed and involved
- Oversee the planning, observation and assessment cycle for your team and key children
- Monitor food safety standards and promote healthy eating practices
- Support the Nursery Manager and Deputy in the smooth running of the wider setting
- Celebrate children’s achievements and create engaging displays that reflect their learning
