Head of Dementia Care
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (2 long days, 2 short days)
Salary: £33,500 per year
Our client, a well-established care home, is seeking an experienced Head of Dementia Care to lead and support a dedicated team in delivering exceptional care for residents living with dementia. The successful candidate will have a Level 3 in Dementia Care or equivalent, as well as a Level 3 Certificate in Team Leadership or a willingness to work towards obtaining it.
As part of the role you will work in line with the Trust’s Head of Dementia Care Competency Framework and will receive ongoing professional development, including monthly supervision from the Admiral Nurse.
What We’re Looking For
- Dementia Care Qualification: QCF Level 3 in Dementia Care (or equivalent).
- Leadership Skills: Level 3 Certificate in Team Leadership (or willingness to work towards it).
- Experience: Proven experience in leading and managing a team in a dementia care setting.
- Work Ethic: Ability to work independently and remain calm under pressure.
- Communication & Organisation: Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Leadership Style: A supportive and motivating approach to team management.

Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Lead and manage a dementia care team, ensuring high-quality support for residents.
- Standards & Best Practices: Work within the Trust’s Head of Dementia Care Competency Framework to maintain excellent standards of care.
- Staff Support & Development: Motivate, mentor, and support the team to deliver compassionate and effective care.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Admiral Nurse during regular support visits.
- Organisation & Communication: Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Autonomy & Resilience: Work independently and manage challenges effectively.
- Role Model: Act as a positive influence within the care home, setting high standards for the team.
