Deputy Supported Housing Manager – Older Adults and Mental Health
Salary: £28,000 - £29,500
37.5 hours per week

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Supported Housing Manager to join a well-established housing provider. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting older adults, with experience in housing management. You will assist in the delivery of high-quality services to residents while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. This position is within a Supported Housing Retirement Community.

 

What we’re looking for

  • Experience in housing management or a similar role, with a good understanding of tenancy agreements, rent payments, and benefit claims.
  • A genuine passion for working with older people and providing exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and show initiative.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to compile reports.
  • Proven experience in managing staff and volunteers, with a focus on creating a positive experience for residents.
  • Ability to handle complaints effectively and resolve issues at first contact.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of contractual compliance and the ability to ensure adherence to service agreements.
  • Experience in collecting and analysing customer feedback to drive service improvements.
  • Previous experience working in a retirement village setting or with older residents is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of housing management services, ensuring compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements, including building, grounds, and contract management.
  • Foster positive relationships with residents, staff, volunteers, and the local community to improve outcomes and promote a strong sense of community.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies, staying updated on legislation and liaising with external agencies as needed.
  • Assist residents with tenancy matters, rent/service charge payments, benefit claims, and debt agreements.
  • Manage low-level antisocial behaviour (ASB) and encourage community cohesion.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, addressing service delivery issues and complaints.
  • Coordinate social activities and encourage resident participation in communal facilities.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure accessible, up-to-date information systems.
