Salary: £30,000

40 hours per week

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Culinary Experience: Previous experience in a chef role, ideally within a care home or large-scale catering environment.
  • Qualifications: Relevant culinary qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or equivalent)
  • Food Safety Certification: Understanding of food hygiene regulations and a valid food safety certificate.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills to effectively engage with residents and staff.
  • Passion for Care: A genuine passion for enhancing the quality of life for residents through nutrition and meal presentation.

 

As a Nursing Home Chef, you will play a vital role in enhancing the dining experience for our client’s residents. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Head Chef and assisting with kitchen assistant duties.
  • Supervising the smooth running of the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef.
  • Preparing and cooking food for presentation to service users.
  • Assisting the Head Chef in planning menus to achieve and maintain budgeted food costs.
  • Carrying out stocktaking and food rotation procedures under the Head Chef’s guidance.
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory regulations concerning food hygiene, COSHH, and Health and Safety at Work.
