Nursing Home Chef
Salary: Up to £25,500
38.5 hours per week

 

We are looking for a talented and dedicated Nursing Home Chef to join our client's small, vibrant care home team. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for food, excellent culinary skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality meals to residents. As Head Chef, you will be responsible for managing the kitchen and ensuring the smooth operation of food preparation in line with the care home's vision.

 

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven Experience: Proven experience as a chef, ideally with experience in a care home or hospitality setting.
  • Culinary Knowledge: Solid understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and dietary requirements.
  • Food Safety & Sanitation: Knowledge of food safety, sanitation regulations, and best practices in food preparation.
  • Creativity & Passion for Cooking: A creative and passionate approach to cooking, with a focus on nutrition, taste, and presentation.
  • Ability to Work Under Pressure: Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.

 

Your day-to-day:

  • Menu Planning & Execution: Plan, prepare, and execute menu items in line with the care home's culinary vision, offering variety and nutritional value for residents.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring efficient and effective daily operations.
  • Recipe Development: Create and develop new recipes while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, taste, and presentation.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory, order supplies, and monitor food costs to ensure budget goals are met.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment at all times.
