Hourly Rate: £13.50

This is a part-time role, working Thursdays and Fridays from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, perfect for someone looking for flexibility without compromising on purpose.

 

Our client is looking for a friendly, experienced Nursery Cook to bring their culinary skills to a nurturing early years setting. Nestled near the river and surrounded by a beautiful enclosed outdoor space, this nursery offers a calm, joyful environment where children thrive—and where great food plays an important part in their day.

 

As the Nursery Cook, you’ll be responsible for preparing healthy, balanced meals and snacks that cater to a variety of dietary needs—all in line with food safety and nutritional guidelines. You'll be a valued member of a warm and supportive team, helping to create a homely, caring environment for the children.

 

What You’ll Need

  • Previous experience working as a cook, ideally in a childcare or similar setting
  • A valid Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Strong understanding of allergies, food intolerances, and nutritional requirements for young children
  • A genuine love for preparing food that supports children’s health and wellbeing
  • Good communication skills and a team-oriented approach

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and prepare nutritious meals and snacks for children aged 0-5
  • Cater to individual dietary needs, allergies, and cultural preferences
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen
  • Manage food stock, orders, and supplies efficiently
  • Ensure all food safety records are up to date
