Deputy Nursery Manager

Salary: Up to £31,600
Hours: 40 hours per week, full-time

 

Our client is seeking an experienced and dedicated Deputy Nursery Manager to support the daily operations of their welcoming and inclusive nursery. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated early years professional ready to step into a leadership role while still working closely with children aged 0–5.

 

Set within a beautifully designed setting featuring age-appropriate rooms and a dedicated outdoor play area, the nursery encourages exploration, creativity, and child-led learning. The Deputy Manager will play a key role in supporting the Nursery Manager and ensuring the delivery of outstanding care and education.

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Level 3 in Early Years (or equivalent)
  • Significant experience in a nursery or early years setting, with some leadership responsibilities
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
  • A commitment to high standards and inclusive practice

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery and act as the designated lead in their absence
  • Lead and mentor staff, ensuring high standards of practice across the team
  • Oversee planning and delivery of EYFS-based learning and care
  • Monitor and assess children’s progress, ensuring accurate record-keeping and effective communication with families
  • Promote a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for all children
  • Support staff development through coaching, training, and reflective practice
  • Build strong partnerships with parents, carers, and external professionals
