Deputy Nurse Manager

30 hours per week
Hourly Rate: £22.40

 

Our client is looking for an experienced and compassionate Deputy Nurse Manager to join their team. This specialist service provides high-quality residential and nursing care to older adults, as well as support for younger adults with complex needs.

 

This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident nurse leader who is passionate about inclusive, person-centred care and ready to take the next step in their nursing career.

 

Working closely with the Home Manager, the Deputy Nurse Manager will take on a vital leadership role—supporting clinical practice, guiding a multidisciplinary team, and ensuring the delivery of safe, dignified, and high-quality care.

 

The successful candidate will lead by example, inspire confidence in the team, and help maintain a warm, supportive environment for both residents and staff.

 

Skills & Qualifications

  • NMC-registered Registered General Nurse (RGN)
  • Previous experience in a senior nursing or leadership role
  • Strong clinical knowledge and decision-making skills
  • Confident in managing care plans, staff supervision, and medication protocols
  • Familiarity with current regulatory frameworks including MCA/DoLS
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational abilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the day-to-day running of the service alongside the Home Manager
  • Support, mentor, and lead a team of nurses and care staff
  • Oversee care plans and medication management
  • Ensure compliance with clinical and regulatory standards
  • Promote a culture of compassion, dignity, and respect
  • Contribute to audits, quality monitoring, and service improvement initiatives
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals
