Hourly Rate: £18 - £22
Shift Pattern: Mixed Shifts
Hours: 40 hours per week
Our client’s mental health hospital in Leicester is dedicated to providing flexible, comprehensive care for women aged 18-65 with complex mental health needs. The hospital is designed to create a therapeutic and supportive environment, focusing on individualised rehabilitation pathways for each patient.
As a Senior Mental Health Nurse you will play an important role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care that promotes positive patient outcomes. This role involves leading and inspiring a team to provide compassionate, structured, and therapeutic support within a holistic treatment framework. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated and empathetic RMN with experience in a similar mental health setting, committed to guiding patients through their recovery journeys with professionalism and care.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Registered Nurse Qualification (Mental Health Nurse), with a current and valid NMC PIN.
- Experience: Previous experience in a senior or leadership role in a mental health setting is preferred.
- Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with patients, families, and team members.
- Empathy and Resilience: A compassionate and patient-centred approach to care, with the resilience to manage challenging situations effectively.
- Commitment to Professional Development: A proactive attitude toward learning and staying up-to-date on best practices in mental health care.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering the highest standard of care to support each patient’s physical, emotional, and psychological needs.
- Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to design and implement individualized care plans.
- Supervising and guiding junior staff, promoting a culture of learning and professional development.
- Administering and monitoring medication, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with protocols.
- Creating a safe, secure, and supportive environment conducive to patient rehabilitation.
- Engaging with patients using a person-centred approach, upholding their dignity and promoting empowerment throughout their recovery.
- Assessing and managing risk in a way that balances patient autonomy with their safety and well-being.
