Head Chef - Care Home

Part-time or full-time will be considered

Hours: £16 per hour 

 

Our client is looking for a skilled and experienced Head Chef to join their team and oversee the kitchen operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, nutritious, and delicious meals for the residents in a care home environment. The ideal candidate should have a strong passion for culinary excellence, excellent leadership abilities, and the capacity to foster a positive and inclusive work environment. 

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven expertise as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a similar setting.
  • Culinary degree or relevant certification.
  • Knowledge of nutrition, dietary requirements, and food safety regulations.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other departments in the care home.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations and procedures.
  • Capability to train and supervise kitchen staff.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising all kitchen activities, including menu planning, food preparation, and presentation.
  • Ensuring adherence to nutrition, dietary requirements, and food safety standards.
  • Leading and guiding kitchen staff, offering necessary training and supervision.
  • Collaborating with other departments to guarantee smooth dining experiences for residents.
  • Managing inventory, controlling food costs, and upholding high cleanliness and organization standards in the kitchen.
